There are always reasons people want to know how to make extra money from home. It may be a dose of extra expenses, not enough income from a single job but not enough time to work two jobs, sometimes just the urge to try building up an independent source of income, so as not to depend on “The Man”. Online Methods That Are Known To Work

There are several methods online that many people use to bring additional income. In some cases, making six or even seven figures a year. Some of the known effective methods to make money online from home are as follows:

  • eBay – eBay is known by many. It’s the premiere auction site, available online to anyone in the world with an internet connection. Since so many people use it, it’s a place where sales occur every second of every day. Many entrepreneurs who make money through eBay do it in one of two ways: One is by selling items they do not directly own by marketing listed items for a higher price, then purchasing said item at that low price and having it shipped to their buyer. This is known as “drop shipping”, and there are some sites who advertise teaching methods to drop ship, although at a cost. The other method is to advertise items listed on eBay for a commission paid directly from eBay, based on the sale price of the item. One of the most popular tools to do this easily is called Build A Niche Store, or BANS. It allows for easy creation of a web site with specific instructions on how to list specific types of items.
  • AdSense – Google AdSense is associated with the ads often seen on web pages everywhere. One way to find them is to check for a label saying “Ads by Google”. These ads are placed on web sites by the web developer/webmaster. The income is from any visitors who click on these ads. A small portion of Google’s profit from advertising cost is given to the website owner for every click on the ads. To make a decent income through AdSense requires one or more websites and a lot of visitors to each website. This can be difficult to accomplish, and requires work and knowledge. There are products online that claim assistance with increasing AdSense income, but they are often expensive and do not always provide enough information to reach a substantial profit.
  • Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing is the business of selling products online for a commission. These products can be actual material objects (such as on eBay), or they can be digital products such as ebooks or software. The commissions for these sales can often be very high, in some cases as high as 75% of the sales price (or more). Affiliate marketing is a growing industry and is one that has several angles to approach from, to make sales and make a profit. It can be a challenging industry to learn, and is best learned through mentoring or direct tutorials. The best known source for direct help is through the forums on Wealthy Affiliate, which is a membership site. Any questions novices in the internet marketing industry may have are asked and answered in the forums, as well as within various tools on the membership site. There are also other ebooks available to teach affiliate/internet marketing although these books will not provide any question and answer sessions, which are found within the Wealthy Affiliate forums. Online Methods That Do NOT Work

There are several options advertised online to make extra money from home that do not advertise truthfully. Here are some of the examples:

  • Online Surveys – “Free Paid Surveys” are often seen advertised online. The truth of these are that there are surveys available, but the payments made for each survey are minimal, and often require a membership fee to begin. The time required to earn money through surveys limits income to a severe degree. It is highly recommended that these be avoided.
  • Type-At-Home Sites – The websites that advertise making money from home for the simple skill of typing are often scams. These sites only give basic information on affiliate marketing, and often give information to teach users how to do menial internet marketing work for the type-at-home site owners, while paying them minimal amounts of money. It’s highly recommended to avoid these, and to learn internet/affiliate marketing specifically, if this is the choice made to make money from home.
